Photo Albums

The Photo Albums are very different from the old site. While the new Photo Albums are fairly intuitive, here is an outline of key things you may want to know:

1. You will first see a directory navigation tree on the left side.
   • Currently, there is only 'Archives' and 'Recent and Favorites'
   • Click on any menu item with a '' to open a directory
   • Open directories have a '' icon
   • Some menu items with a '' do not just contain other directories, but may have files to view
   • Directories that do not have a '' do not have subdirectories and only have files to view
2. When a directory is clicked that contains files to view, two things will appear:
   1. An image viewer containing one photo
   2. A thumbnail bar
3. When your cursor hovers over a thumbnail, the filename for the photo is displayed
4. When you click on a thumbnail, the image viewer replaces the photo that was there with the thumbnail's associated full image
5. Currently, there is a scrollbar under the thumbnails (when there are too many to show on a single page. Eventually, the scrolling method will be replaced
6. If you click on the full image in the image viewer, a new tab (or window, if you configured your browser to do so) will open with the following:
   • The full image displayed to take up all available space without clipping (cutting off parts of the image)
   • Two navigation buttons, one on the left and one on the right to allow previous and next photo navigation
   • A '' button to run a slideshow, which when click will show a small box with the following:
     • A title bar that contains "Slideshow" and a close button
     • The number of seconds that you can modify to display a photo before advancing, which is constrained from 5 up to 300 seconds
     • A fullscreen checkbox that you can uncheck if you do not want a fullscreen slideshow
     • A '' button to start the slideshow
   • Once a slideshow is started, the box and the navigation buttons will disappear and the '' is replaced with a '' button
   • There are two methods to stop the slideshow:
     • Press 'Esc' on your keyboard
     • Click on the '' button
   • Once the slideshow is stopped, all buttons and the Slideshow box will return
